KYIV, June 16 (Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy mentioned on Friday he had invited African leaders to participate in a worldwide peace summit and rejected the concept of peace talks with Moscow, which he mentioned would merely freeze the battle in Ukraine.
Zelenskiy first proposed the concept of a worldwide peace summit in November when he laid out a 10-point “peace method” that envisages the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from his nation and which Kyiv says is the one viable path to peace.
Ukraine is but to set a agency date for the peace summit as a result of it’s attempting to get as many International South nations to attend, Zelenskiy’s chief of employees mentioned this month.
“I noticed the prospects of our work on particular factors of the peace method, and, actually, I invited the African states to take part within the peace summit that we’re making ready,” Zelenskiy informed a press convention with visiting African leaders.
A delegation of African leaders visited Kyiv on a peace mission on Friday, undeterred by what Ukraine mentioned was a volley of Russian missiles supposed to greet them within the capital.
