UN urges Taliban to reverse restrictions on women: ‘Unfathomable…’

The United Nations Safety Council (UNSC) on Tuesday condemned the growing restrictions on girls’s rights in Afghanistan – every week after the Taliban banned college schooling for girls within the nation. In a press assertion, the UNSC urged the Taliban to reverse the restrictions and “reiterated its deep concern of the suspension of colleges past the sixth grade, and its name for the complete, equal, and significant participation of ladies and women in Afghanistan,” reported information company AP.

UN Excessive Commissioner for Human Rights Volker mentioned, “No nation can develop — certainly survive — socially and economically with half its inhabitants excluded”. Final week, the Taliban banned all college schooling for girls and introduced the exclusion of ladies from NGO work – which led to international outrage.
