Cyberabad Police on Saturday arrested a senior professor of the College of Hyderabad on fees of molesting a international feminine pupil. The professor allegedly tried to molest a pupil from Thailand on Friday evening at his residence.
The international pupil was allegedly invited by the professor to his residence, which is located close to the campus. The coed mentioned within the grievance she filed that the professor was alone at his home. He supplied alcohol and tried to benefit from the state of affairs. The professor was charged beneath Part 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
The coed speaks solely Thai and the police are on the lookout for a translator to assist with the investigation.
In the meantime, college college students gathered on the fundamental gate to stage a protest towards the incident and demand security for feminine college students. The scholars’ union alleged that the administration had ignored calls made by them.
The varsity launched a press release condemning the incident and calling it a matter of sexual assault. The police, nonetheless, clarified that the coed had not been sexually assaulted.
