A surprising incident occurred at a highschool monitor meet in Virginia on Friday, leaving Brookville Excessive Faculty sprinter Kaelen Tucker severely injured. Whereas competing within the 4×200 meter relay at Liberty College, Ms Tucker was struck on the again of the pinnacle by a baton wielded by an opposing runner. The impression resulted in a recognized concussion and a suspected cranium fracture, leaving her in want of medical consideration.
Video footage shared on social media reveals Ms Tucker trying to overhaul the Norcom runner, who then violently swung her baton, putting her on the pinnacle. The impression induced Ms Tucker to stumble, decelerate, and finally collapse on the monitor’s inside. Her mom and crew trainers promptly rushed to her aspect to help.

As a consequence, the IC Norcom Excessive Faculty crew was disqualified from the competitors as a result of “contact interference”. In the meantime, Kaelen Tucker described herself as being in a state of shock following the traumatic occasion.
“Whenever you go to the opposite aspect of the monitor, you need to cross into lane one, you need to merge in. As I used to be arising on her, she type of like made me get lower off slightly bit, so I backed away. Then, as we bought across the curve, she stored bumping me in my arms. Then lastly we bought off the curve, I like slowly began passing her after which that is when she simply hit me with the baton and I fell off the monitor,” Ms Tucker advised WSLS TV.
Tamarro Tucker, Kaelen’s mom, expressed concern that following the disturbing incident, nobody from the I.C. Norcom Excessive Faculty crew took the initiative to verify on her daughter’s well-being.
“No apologies. No coaches. No athlete. No something. Even when it was an accident, which I do not consider it was, nothing,” she stated.
