With a number of casualties being feared because the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Specific and one other practice from Yeswanthpur to Howrah derailed close to Baleswar in Odisha, folks rushed to assist their fellow passengers who had been trapped within the overturned coaches.

“At round 7pm, 10-12 coaches of the Shalimar-Chennai Coromandel Specific derailed close to Baleswar and fell on the other observe. After a while, one other practice from Yeswanthpur to Howrah dashed into these derailed coaches ensuing within the derailment of its 3-4 coaches,” Railway Spokesperson Amitabh Sharma stated.

The incident befell at Bahanaga Bazar station close to Balasore.
