A platypus has been re-introduced into the wild in a nationwide park close to Sydney. It is the primary time in 50 years the park could have a platypus inhabitants.
It’s a part of a gaggle of the uncommon species which had been collected from numerous places throughout New South Wales for testing and scientific research.
Most Australians have by no means seen a platypus within the wild as a result of they’re extremely reclusive. These platypuses will likely be tracked for the following two years.
The undertaking is a collaboration between the NSW Nationwide Parks and Wildlife Service, Taronga Conservation Society Australia, WWF-Australia and researchers from UNSW’s Centre for Ecosystem Science.
