The BJP on Wednesday attacked the West Bengal authorities and the INDIA bloc over the findings of a three-member committee fashioned by the Calcutta Excessive Courtroom to look into the violence that broke out within the state’s Murshidabad district, saying that it had “unmasked the so-called self-champions of secularism”.

Alleging that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and its leaders had sought to propagate misinformation about the opportunity of outsider involvement within the violence that passed off throughout protests towards the Waqf (Modification) Act on April 11, BJP nationwide spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi requested if West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would take motion towards MLA Mehboob Alam, who has been named within the committee’s report.
