Union Minister for Metal and Heavy Industries H D Kumaraswamy Sunday slammed Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah following the latter’s allegations that Kumaraswamy had stalled the implementation of the Social and Academic Survey Report – popularly often called caste census – compiled by the Karnataka State Fee for Backward Courses throughout his tenure as chief minister.
Talking on the Janata Dal (Secular) state headquarters in Bengaluru, after flagging off the social gathering’s state tour and membership marketing campaign beneath Nikhil Kumaraswamy, president of the JD(S) youth wing, the Union Minister requested why the Karnataka authorities had not accepted its report throughout its two-year tenure. The state authorities has not too long ago determined to scrap the Survey carried out in 2015 and go for a recent survey of assorted castes within the state.
“The CM has falsely claimed that I threatened the then-minister C Puttarangashetty to not settle for the caste census report,” Kumaraswamy stated, countering Siddaramaiah’s remarks made final Thursday. “It’s been two years because you got here to energy. Who has stopped you from implementing the caste census? Aren’t you the so-called champion of backward lessons? Then why haven’t you applied it?” he requested.
In the meantime, Rajya Sabha MP and JD(S) nationwide president H D Deve Gowda responded to the competition that the JD(S) as a regional social gathering wouldn’t survive after him. The previous prime minister stated the “social gathering has survived and can survive after I’m gone”.

Reacting to the lack of the social gathering within the Channapatna bypoll final 12 months, Deve Gowda stated, “One defeat can’t shake us. We’ll rise once more, and the social gathering has that energy.”
