The Karnataka Police arrested a father-son duo after the CCTV footage of a girl being sexually harassed in public in Bengaluru Rural district went viral on Monday.
The arrested accused have been recognized as John Richard, 23, and his father, Kanika Swamy.
“The assault came about round 4 pm on Sunday. CCTV footage confirmed {that a} group of intoxicated males blocked the trail of the girl and tried to the touch her inappropriately. John Richard even tried to slap the girl when she tried to flee. After the girl resisted, the group thrashed her in public,” a police officer mentioned.
The police mentioned native residents and a pal of the girl ultimately got here to her rescue. Later, the pal of the girl, recognized as a fitness center coach, allegedly assaulted Richard. Following this, Swamy and a few others attacked residents who had helped the sufferer.
The girl has filed a criticism of sexual harassment. Whereas Richard has additionally filed a criticism towards the fitness center coach on fees of assaulting him. Richard is presently admitted to the hospital and is being handled for his accidents.
