The Bengaluru police arrested a 27-year-old man on Friday for allegedly recording movies of girls commuters on the Metro with out their consent and sharing the footage on social media platforms, together with Instagram and Telegram.
The Instagram account had come underneath hearth for allegedly posting pictures and movies of girls commuters on Namma Metro trains with out their consent. It precipitated vast uproar on social media, with many reporting the account and urging Bengaluru police to trace the individual working it.
The police recognized the accused as Diganth, a resident of Thilgalarapalya in North Bengaluru, and stated he initially hails from Holenarasipura in Hassan district. A commerce graduate, Diganth is employed within the accounts division of a non-public agency in Murugeshpalya, the police stated.
He has been booked underneath Part 67 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and underneath the IT Act for publishing and transmitting obscene materials in digital type.
In line with the police, Diganth used the Metro each day, travelling from Peenya to Indiranagar. Throughout these commutes, he allegedly filmed unsuspecting ladies and later posted the clips on-line.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) Lokesh B Jagalasar confirmed the arrest, stating that Diganth was apprehended from his residence on Friday afternoon.
Investigators are at the moment inspecting his digital gadgets to find out the extent of the offence. Preliminary findings point out that he had been importing such content material since March 2025.
