Ukraine has joined Spain and Portugal’s bid to host the 2030 Fifa World Cup.
Representatives of the Spanish, Portuguese and Ukrainian soccer associations confirmed their plans at Uefa’s headquarters on Wednesday.
Ukraine was invaded by Russia in February and the battle has continued since then with hundreds of troops and civilians killed and main cities struggling important destruction.
Spain and Portugal initially introduced a joint bid in June 2021.
“Our bid just isn’t an Iberian bid any extra, it is a European bid,” Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish federation (RFEF), stated.
“I am satisfied that now our bid is a lot better than earlier than. Soccer is common and whether it is able to altering the life of individuals in so some ways it must also be used for doing good.”
