Chennai, Aug 5 (PTI) Copparam Shreyas Hareesh, a 13-year-old prodigy from Bengaluru, succumbed to accidents that he had suffered following a crash within the third spherical of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian Nationwide Bike Racing Championship on the Madras Worldwide Circuit, right here on Saturday.
Following the tragic incident, promoter of the occasion, Madras Motor Sports activities Membership, cancelled the remaining races scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Born on July 26, 2010, Shreyas, a scholar of Kensri Faculty in Bengaluru, was being hailed as a rising star, as he had received a number of races on the Nationwide stage, together with 4 in a row, competing within the rookie class of the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship this season.
The incident occurred quickly after the beginning of the rookie race for which he had certified for pole place this morning. Exiting Flip-1, Shreyas fell following a crash and suffered grievous head harm.
The race was red-flagged instantly and he was rushed to a close-by hospital in a trauma care ambulance stationed on the monitor.
He was pronounced useless on arrival on the hospital. His father, Copparam Hareesh was at his bedside.
“It’s tragic to have misplaced a rider so younger and proficient. Shreyas, who was making waves along with his prodigious racing expertise, was supplied medical help on the spot instantly after the incident and brought to the hospital,” MMSC president Ajit Thomas mentioned.

It’s the second fatality in Indian motorsport this 12 months. In January, KE Kumar, 59, a famous and revered racer, died in hospital following a crash within the second spherical of the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian Nationwide Automobile Racing Championship 2022 on the Madras Worldwide Circuit.
