Helsinki, Finland:
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday denied Moscow’s declare that Ukraine had tried to assassinate Russian chief Vladimir Putin after Russia stated two drones had been shot down over the Kremlin.
“We did not assault Putin… We struggle on our territory, we’re defending our villages and cities,” Zelensky advised reporters at a press convention with Nordic leaders in Helsinki.
“We do not assault Putin or Moscow. We do not have sufficient weapons for this,” he added.
Russia stated Wednesday it had shot down two drones focusing on Putin’s Kremlin residence in what it referred to as a Ukrainian “terrorist” assassination try.
“The units had been put out of motion,” a Kremlin assertion stated.
Moscow stated Putin was not harm and there have been no casualties.
Requested about why Moscow would accuse Kyiv, Zelensky replied, “Russia has no victories.”
“He (Putin) can not inspire his society and he can not ship his navy to die for nothing,” he stated.
The Ukrainian chief on Wednesday participated in a summit in Helsinki gathering the leaders of the 5 Nordic nations.
Zelensky reaffirmed that Ukraine goals to turn into a member of NATO, whereas the Nordic NATO members issued a press release declaring they might “proceed to assist Ukraine on its path in the direction of future membership.”
“Ukraine is already a de facto member of NATO and we are literally cooperating for the sake of widespread defence,” Zelensky stated.
