A minimum of 5 individuals have been killed and 50 extra injured after a stage collapsed at an election marketing campaign rally in Mexico’s northern Nuevo León state, the native governor has stated.
The incident occurred as centre-left presidential candidate Jorge Alvarez Maynez was delivering a speech within the metropolis of San Pedro Garza Garcia, close to Monterrey.
Mr Maynez was unhurt within the collapse, and was seen chatting with supporters following the incident. A number of members of his crew had been harm, he stated.
The collapse was attributable to a sudden gust of wind, Mr Maynez stated in a publish on X.
