Search operations resume in Udhampur, Kishtwar

Safety forces on Thursday resumed search operations after night-long cordons in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur and Kishtwar districts, officers stated.

The night-long cordons have been locations after transient encounters between safety forces and terrorists in Jopher-Marta belt of Udhampur district and Chatroo belt of Kishtwar district on Wednesday following the institution of contact with terrorists, they stated.

Search operations have resumed in Jopher-Marta forests and the Naidgam-Chatroo belt in Udhampur and Kishtwar districts respectively, the officers stated.

The areas have been strengthened with extra reinforcements to trace down the terrorists working within the areas, they stated.
Throughout a search operation by police and different safety forces on Wednesday, contact was established with terrorists within the Jopher-Marta belt, triggering an encounter. They stated two to 3 terrorists are trapped.

Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure stated the alternate of fireside passed off for 2 hours, earlier than the world was put underneath evening cordon with extra deployment.

The SSP stated the world was inaccessible as a result of excessive mountains, a river, and dense woods, and stated “two to 3 terrorists are hiding within the forest space.” Performing on a tip-off, safety forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chatroo forest space of Kishtwar district on Wednesday. It was adopted by a short firing alternate with terrorists in Naidgam space, they stated, including the cordon has been strengthened within the space.

Police and safety forces have been monitoring terrorists shifting from one space to a different for the previous 17 days following three encounters for the reason that operation began on March 24 within the Sanyal space of Kathua district.
