Flags at half-staff in Colorado to honor Rev. Jesse Jackson

Flags will fly at half-staff this week in Denver in honor of a civil rights chief and two-time presidential candidate who died final week, Mayor Mike Johnston introduced Sunday.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, who died final Tuesday on the age of 84, led the Civil Rights Motion for many years after Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. He died at house in Chicago, surrounded by household, Jackson’s daughter confirmed.

Jackson had many connections to civil rights leaders in Colorado and Denver, together with Wellington and Wilma Webb, Cleo Parker Robinson and Michael Hancock, Polis mentioned.
