Amid the continuing border dispute Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai and his Maharashtra counterpart Eknath Shinde mentioned the difficulty over a name on Tuesday and agreed that each states ought to preserve peace, regulation and order.

The border dispute between Maharashtra and Karnataka goes again to the implementation of the State Reorganization Act, of 1956. The then Maharashtra authorities had demanded the readjustment of its border with Karnataka.
