Seven cops booked for threatening right-wing worker in Mandya dist | Bengaluru

The Srirangapatna police in Mandya district on Sunday booked seven police personnel, together with a circle inspector, for allegedly threatening a pro-Hindu employee and outraging his spiritual emotions.

The case was registered after the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staff staged a protest onSaturdayalleging that police threatened the pro-Hindu employee in custody.

On December 4, pro-Hindu staff held the Hanuma Sankeerthana yatra in Srirangapatna demanding that the Jamia masjid, which is situated contained in the fort within the city, be handed over to them. Hindu outfits declare {that a} Hanuman temple stood instead of the mosque initially and was partially razed by 18th Century ruler Tipu Sultan to assemble the mosque.
