Man held for falsely blaming Maharashtra- Karnataka border dispute for accident | Bengaluru

 Amid the border row between Maharashtra and Karnataka, the driving force of a state government-run financial institution has been detained for falsely accusing pro-Marathi teams of attacking him to attempt to cowl up an accident.

The accused, Chetan NV, works as a driver on the Karnataka State Rural Improvement Financial institution and he was deputed to Belagavi for the upcoming winter session of the state Meeting in Suvarna Soudha.

In accordance with the police, Chetan was passing by the  Hirebagewadi toll plaza round 7.30pm on Wednesday in a jeep and hit a truck carrying iron rods from the rear, allegedly inebriated.

Hours later, he lodged a criticism with Bagewadi police in Belagavi taluk, alleging that his automobile was attacked by pro-Marathi activists close to Suvarna Soudha. The report of the incident went viral and the police launched a probe.

Throughout questioning, the police discovered inconsistencies within the driver’s statements. Later, he confessed that he had cooked up the story to cowl up the accident. “Since there was a conflict between Kannadigas and Marathis, he tried to make use of it by levelling false allegations in opposition to Marathis,” stated a senior officer acquainted with the case, who didn’t wish to be named.

Additional investigations revealed that on Tuesday morning whereas coming to Belagavi from Bengaluru, he consumed alcohol at a restaurant in Haveri district round 4.30 pm.  After crossing Hirebagewadi toll plaza, his jeep hit the truck.

Belagavi DCP (Legislation and Order) Ravindra Gadadi stated that Chetan filed a false criticism stating that his automobile was stopped by a number of individuals who spoke in Marathi language and broken his automobile. “No such incident occurred. To cowl his fault he had framed the false story,” DCP Gadadi stated and appealed to not unfold such rumours.

ADGP (legislation and order) Alok Kumar additionally stated that authorized motion could be initiated in opposition to the driving force. “The motive force of the automobile has misled by giving it a distinct twist. A six-member ministerial staff, comprising three ministers every from Maharashtra and Karnataka, will sit-together to debate a festering interstate border situation and no state will stake declare on the territory until the Supreme Courtroom decides the dispute, Union house minister Amit Shah introduced on Wednesday after a gathering with the chief ministers of each states.

Shah met Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Karnataka house minister Araga Jnanendra in Delhi.

After the assembly, Shah stated a number of selections had been taken to resolve the dispute, which he stated “can’t be settled on the streets, however solely via constitutional means”.
