The Sela Cross tunnel which can present all-weather connectivity to the Indian Military in direction of the Line of Precise Management (LAC) close to Tawang close to the China border is being constructed at 13,000 toes in Arunachal Pradesh.

The development of the Sela Cross tunnel is being performed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

Nanda Kishore, an worker related to the challenge, stated that the tunnel is predicted to be accomplished by July 2023.

“Development is being performed by BRO. It is anticipated to be accomplished by July (2023),” stated Kishore.

At current, the Indian Military personnel and other people of the world are utilizing Balipara-Chariduar Street to achieve Tawang as a result of the connectivity via the Sela Cross route will get affected through the winter because of extreme snowfall. Motion of the automobiles will get restricted.

The Sela Cross tunnel will bypass the present street and it’ll join Baisakhi to Nuranang. The Sela tunnel cuts via the Sela-Charbela ridge, which separates the Tawang district from the West Kameng district. It’s situated a number of kilometres to the west of the Sela Cross.

The tunnel will present easy vehicular motion. After completion of the tunnel, the gap might be diminished by about 8-9 km.

The challenge contains two tunnels together with one twin tube. Tunnel 2 has one bi-lane tube for visitors and one escape tube for emergencies. Solely tunnels longer than 1,500 metres should have an escape passage alongside.
