After Morbi tragedy, Congress leader’s concern for Karnataka’s hanging bridges | Bengaluru

Karnataka Congress spokesperson Nivedith Alva has requested the state authorities to run a precautionary security test in any respect hanging bridges in Karnataka after the Morbi tragedy in Gujarat the place 134 individuals have died thus far. The ruling BJP is but to reply to the request of the Congress chief.

After the Morbi bridge collapse, round 200 personnel had been deployed in a single day because the groups of the NDRF, Indian Military and Indian Navy carried out rescue operations.

Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai paid his condolences to the households of those that died within the mishap.

He tweeted, “Saddened on the mishap in Gujarat’s #Morbi the place some individuals have died & some injured as a cable bridge on Machchhu River collapsed. Gujarat CM @Bhupendrapbjp is carefully monitoring rescue operations. Might the injured have a speedy restoration. My condolences to the bereaved households. (Sic)”
