Agra: Girl,4, killed as several houses collapse amid excavation work

An excavation work at a dharamshala in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra on Thursday morning turned deadly as a four-year-old woman was killed and some others had been injured after six homes collapsed, information company PTI reported.

Deputy commissioner of police (Metropolis) Vikas Kumar the incident happened round 7am. He stated the excavation work was occurring in a dharamshala in Tila Maithan locality close to Agra Metropolis Railway Station. However six homes and one temple had been collapsed as a consequence of its impression.

“Three individuals had been trapped beneath the particles. They had been recognized as Vivek Kumar and his two daughters – Videhi, 5, and Rusali, 4,” PTI quoted Kumar as saying. They had been taken to a hospital the place Rusali died.

Manoj Verma, one other resident whose home collapsed within the incident, advised PTI, “With the grace of god the incident occurred within the morning when only a few individuals had been of their homes. Had it occurred at night time, many individuals would have been trapped.”

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath reportedly took cognizance of the constructing collapse incident and instructed the district administration and senior cops to go to the incident spot and conduct aid work.

The police have begun a probe into the matter.

The incident happened two days after Samajwadi Get together spokesperson Abbas Haider misplaced his spouse and mom in a multi-storey constructing collapse in Lucknow. The five-storey Alaya Flats within the Hazratganj space within the Uttar Pradesh capital collapsed on Tuesday night, trapping greater than a dozen individuals beneath it.

Haider’s spouse Uzma Haider, 30, and mom Begum Haider, 87, have died, whereas two extra individuals had been nonetheless feared trapped beneath the particles.
