At first public protest over ‘custodial deaths’, Vijay’s salvo at Stalin govt – ‘Your best answer is Sorry Ma’ | India News

Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Sunday led his first public demonstration since coming into politics, lashing out at Chief Minister M Okay Stalin for “hiding behind the Union authorities” by transferring the custodial dying case of Ajith Kumar to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The protest, held at Swami Sivananda Salai in Chennai, drew a whole bunch of TVK cadres and supporters.

Vijay, wearing a black shirt, demanded justice for the 24 alleged victims of custodial deaths in Tamil Nadu below the DMK regime over the previous 4 years. About 10,000 individuals attended the occasion.

Criticising what he described as the federal government’s passive response to severe crimes, Vijay alleged: “There are a number of atrocities in your authorities. Ranging from the Anna College (rape) case to the Ajith Kumar case, the courtroom is intervening and questioning the federal government. If the courtroom is there to query every thing, why are you right here? Why is that this authorities right here? Why is that this Chief Minister publish for you?”
