BBMP suspends 10 civic officials after QR-coded caste census stickers found on bikes, tea stalls | Bangalore News

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Monday suspended 10 civic officers for purported negligence in conducting the caste census ordered by the state authorities.

Suralkar Vikas Kishore, Particular Commissioner (Welfare), BBMP, admitted to gaps in finishing up the census. Shashank, son of the home proprietor, stated, “We had been inside the home once they (BBMP officers) arrived. They didn’t ask for any particulars and failed to point out their ID playing cards. Reacting to the controversy, Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra stated on X, “The so-called Caste Survey is nothing greater than a hole spectacle, orchestrated by CM Siddaramaiah with no actual political will to implement it meaningfully.
