The Bengaluru police Saturday foiled a dacoity try, recovered Rs 1.01 crore in money, and arrested eight suspects inside quarter-hour of receiving intimation of the crime.

Seemant Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru metropolis, introduced the arrest on Sunday.

The arrested accused have been recognized as Narasimha, 34, a automobile driver from JP Nagar; Jeevan, 27, a fitness center coach from Begur; Kishore M, 30, a labourer from Anekal; Venkataraju, 28, a waterboy from Anekal; Chandiran, 33, an auto driver from Kalasipalya; Kumar N, 36, a safety guard from Anekal; Ravi Kiran, 33, a safety guard from Begur; and Naman, 18, a milk vendor from Ellenahalli.

The police stated one Hemant, a driver from Tumkur, reached Akshay Nagar round 6 pm to gather a considerable money cost on the directions of his employer, a vendor of areca nuts. Hemant met actual property vendor Mota Ram and his spouse Lakshmi Devi to obtain Rs 1.01 crore money associated to a current property transaction. The couple was carrying the cash in two luggage inside their car.

What gave the impression to be a routine enterprise change shortly turned harmful when two miscreants out of the blue appeared, claiming they wanted to examine the victims’ autos. The attackers photographed the victims and, when questioned about their authority, allegedly assaulted each Lakshmi and Hemant. The three victims managed to lock themselves up of their automobile and tried to flee the scene.

Nonetheless, the suspects pursued them, forcing the car to take a detour by means of a abandoned space. As soon as cornered, Hemant and Ram had been compelled out of the automobile whereas Lakshmi remained inside with the money. The state of affairs escalated when different accused arrived, and Hemant was assaulted.

The gang confined all three victims in a shed for about two hours. They demanded a further Rs 10 lakh ransom for the victims’ launch. One suspect supplied Hemant with a cell phone, instructing him to contact his boss to rearrange the ransom.

Nonetheless, Hemant used the chance to alert his boss, who then contacted Assistant Commissioner of Police Subramanyapura. Thereafter, inside quarter-hour of receiving the alert, a police crew reached the placement, apprehended all suspects, rescued the victims, and recovered the whole quantity.
