Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D Ok Shivakumar Friday issued a clarification after a video of him singing the official anthem of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) went viral on social media platforms.

Shivakumar mentioned he had achieved his analysis on Communist events, the JD(S), the BJP, and the RSS. “Now we have to be taught good qualities from everybody,” he added.

He maintained that he was “a born Congressman” and lauded RSS for constructing institutes in Karnataka at taluk centres. “They’re making an attempt to evangelise to youngsters. As a pacesetter, I ought to know who my pals and opponents are. Politically, we’ve variations,” he mentioned.

The viral clip is from the time when Karnataka Residence Minister G Parameshwara was responding to a dialogue on the stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. As a part of a banter, Chief of Opposition R Ashok reminded Shivakumar that he had worn the RSS uniform previously.

The deputy CM responded by reciting just a few strains of ‘Namaste Sada Vatsale’. This was earlier than he defined why he participated within the celebrations by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) even after the stampede occurred.

Shivakumar, previously, too, has spoken about his affiliation with the right-wing group throughout his adolescence in Bengaluru.
