CBI recovers ₹20 crore in cash, other valuables from former WAPCOS CMD | Latest News India

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday recovered ₹20 crore in money throughout raids on the premises of Rajinder Kumar Gupta, former chairman and managing director of WAPCOS Ltd, a central public sector enterprise underneath the Jal Shakti ministry, and his members of the family.

“CBI has registered a case towards former CMD, Water and Energy Consultancy Companies (India) Restricted (WAPCOS, a Govt of India Enterprise underneath Ministry of Jal Shakti) and his members of the family on the allegations that the accused through the tenure from April 1, 2011, to March 31, 2019, had possessed disproportionate belongings approach past his identified sources of revenue,” a CBI spokesperson mentioned.

“It was additional alleged that the accused after retiring from the service began a consultancy enterprise within the identify of a personal firm based mostly in Delhi. The alleged immovable properties belonging to the accused embody flats, industrial properties and farmhouses unfold throughout Delhi, Gurugram, Panchkula, Sonipat and Chandigarh,” he mentioned.

The CBI performed searches at 19 places throughout Delhi, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Sonipat and Ghaziabad on the premises of accused which led to restoration of giant money of ₹20 crore (roughly), enormous quantities of jewelry and different useful objects, and incriminating paperwork.
