Complaint filed against CM Bommai’s media advisor for ‘bribing’ journalists | Bengaluru

An anti-corruption activist group, Janaadhikaara Sangharsha Parishath, filed a criticism with Karnataka Lokayukta towards the media adviser to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for allegedly making an attempt to bribe journalists of a number of media homes “in disguise of Deepawali reward”.

The complainant seeks course to the ADGP of Karnataka Lokayukta Police for an investigation into the matter of an alleged money reward given to journalists, editors and reporters of the channels and papers.

In response to the criticism, CM Bommai by way of his media advisor, Shankar Pagoji, has tried to bribe journalists lately.

“Details about a criticism submitted to ADGP, Karnataka Lokayukta Police, Bangalore towards the Chief Minister of Karnataka for cost of bribes to chief reporters of a number of media homes in disguise of Deepawali items, by way of his media coordinator Shankar Pagoji for Felony Offence of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1088, Prevention of Corruption (Modification) Act, 2018 and related provisions of another regulation,” said the criticism.

In the meantime, the Congress on Friday demanded a judicial probe into the alleged money reward case towards the BJP authorities headed by Basavaraj Bommai.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in its official Twitter deal with questioned the supply of the “cash” being misused by the federal government.

KPCC tweeted, ” There must be a judicial inquiry into the Chief Minister’s workplace ‘candy field bribe’ to journalists. Is that misuse of public tax cash? What’s the supply of the cash? How a lot bribes have been paid? What number of obtained bribes? What number of (journalists) returned?”

“We didn’t merely marketing campaign towards Bommai as PayCM. This authorities is receiving bribes, and giving bribes. All bribes are routed by way of PayCM. The federal government is making an attempt to hush up scams by buying media shops identical to the federal government got here to energy by buying MLAs,” claimed the KPCC in one other tweet.

The Congress, in September, launched the ‘PayCM’ marketing campaign accusing the BJP of corruption within the state.

Different Congress leaders, together with Jairam Ramesh and Randeep Singh Surjewala additionally demanded a proof from the federal government on the alleged journalist bribing matter.

Surjewala tweeted, “The #40PercentSarkar seeks to bribe the journalists with ₹1 Lakh money! Will Mr. Bommai reply – 1. Is not it “bribe” being provided by CM? 2. What’s the supply of ₹1,00,000? Has it come from Public Exchequer or from CM himself? 3. Will ED/IT take notice?”
