Devanahalli aerospace park: Siddaramaiah to take final call on land acquisition amid mixed responses from farmers | Bangalore News

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is ready to take a last resolution on July 15 relating to the acquisition of 449 acres of land, which is proposed to be a part of the Hello-Tech Defence and Aerospace Park close to Devanahalli, amid blended responses from native farmers over parting with their land.

Addressing reporters, Industries Minister M B Patil instructed reporters Sunday that whereas some farmers have been protesting in opposition to land acquisition at Channarayapatna Hobli, Bengaluru North (previously Bengaluru Rural) district, others have been prepared to surrender land offered Rs 3.5 crore was compensated per acre of land. “There are completely different opinions amongst farmers. The federal government is reviewing all facets of the scenario,” he mentioned.

The choice of the Karnataka authorities to amass 1,777 acres of land throughout 13 villages of the district has been met with protests since a authorities order was issued to amass it in 2022. Farmer organisations not too long ago held a ‘Devanahalli Chalo’ protest to halt the acquisition carried out by the Karnataka Industrial Space Growth Board. Responding to a query, Patil mentioned that the federal government was conscious of the extent of land bought by varied builders round Devanahalli. “We all know with whom they’ve made agreements, the parcels of land politicians personal, and who’s backing the protest (by farmers). There may be now a name to protect agriculture within the Devanahalli area. Due to this fact, the federal government can also be contemplating making a everlasting agricultural zone,” he mentioned.

Noting the variations amongst farmers concerning the acquisition course of, he mentioned that such battle was not acceptable.
