A Bengaluru software program skilled was allegedly defrauded out of Rs 2 lakh by an extortionist gang after he visited a girl he had met on a relationship app, the police stated on Monday whereas asserting the arrests of six individuals together with the girl, a former bar dancer, in reference to the incident.

The Yelahanka police recognized the accused as Sangeeta Sahni, 36, Sharanabasappa Baliger, 50, Raju Maane, 34, Abhishek, 19, Beerabal Majjagi, 21, and Shyam Sundar Pande, 20, including that Baliger, the prime suspect, has prior involvement in an analogous case registered by the Puttenahalli police.

The sufferer is a 41-year-old software program skilled employed by a distinguished Mahadevapura agency. Initially from Telangana, he has lived in Bengaluru for 15 years.

The girl locked herself within the lavatory, crying that her life had been ruined. The 4 males then started negotiations to extort cash from the techie, based on the police.

Initially demanding Rs 15 lakh, they finally settled for Rs 2 lakh, which he instantly transferred, the police stated.

After discussing the incident with mates, the techie approached the police on July 21, following which they registered a case in opposition to the accused.

A police officer stated the backgrounds of different suspects had been being verified.
