Fatal Brighton stabbing started over phone dispute

A Brighton man charged with first-degree homicide within the stabbing loss of life of a 34-year-old man killed him over a dispute involving paying for a telephone, in response to an arrest affidavit.

Johnny Jose Moreno, 52, was arrested after police say he fatally stabbed Victor Ibarra at Eastgate Village cellular residence park within the 3000 block of East Bridge Avenue on Could 22.

Officers responded to the house at round 5 p.m. and located Ibarra with two stab wounds to his chest and stomach, police wrote within the arrest report. There was a big kitchen knife on the counter with blood on the tip, and witnesses stated there had been a struggle between Ibarra and an unknown man.

Ibarra was taken to Platte Valley Hospital and was pronounced useless at round 8 p.m.

Police later discovered that Ibarra was already on the residence when Moreno walked in with a small aluminum bat in his again pocket and began a struggle.

A witness within the residence repeatedly tried to interrupt up the struggle, at one level taking a knife away from Moreno, however he managed to seek out one other knife and stabbed Ibarra and chased him across the kitchen, police stated.

After Ibarra stumbled outdoors and a witness pushed the kitchen desk in entrance of Moreno to attempt to cease him, he began slamming the knife into the desk and stated he was “made for this (expletive,)” witnesses informed police.

At one level through the confrontation, Moreno requested Ibarra if he was going to “pay for the telephone” and Ibarra stated no. A tipster later informed police Moreno had additionally stolen Ibarra’s automobile keys in a earlier altercation.

Moreno and his girlfriend had been pushed away from the cellular residence park by a witness who informed police she was afraid she would get damage if she didn’t comply, and he or she later dropped him off in Aurora.

Moreno is in custody on a $2 million bail and is ready to look in Adams County District Courtroom on July 1.
