5 individuals have been arrested in reference to a case of abduction of two youths in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, police stated on Sunday. The youths, each cousins, arrived from overseas and had been allegedly kidnapped for ransom on Friday.
Whereas one was launched by the abductors, the opposite was rescued, the police stated. The arrested 5 had been of their late 20s and 30s Metropolis police commissioner N Shashi Kumar stated the automobile the 5 had been travelling in was intercepted at Arkula on suspicion. However, they escaped after attacking the police personnel. Later, the police rounded them up. It’s learnt that the kidnapping was carried out on the behest of a rowdy-sheeter in Bengaluru. The Commissioner stated two extra accused are but to be arrested.
