Govt resumes sugar exports; allows 6 million tons on quota basis till May 31

The federal government on Saturday allowed export of 6 million tonnes of sugar on quota foundation until Might 31, in keeping with a meals ministry notification.

“In an effort to forestall uncontrolled export of sugar or with a view to make sure enough availability of sugar for home consumption at an affordable worth, authorities has determined to permit export of sugar upto an affordable restrict with impact from November 1 until Might 31, 2023,” it mentioned.
