DB InfraGO, the infrastructure division of Deutsche Bahn, has awarded Implenia a contract valued at over €200m ($227.9m) to assemble a key part of the Nordmainische S-Bahn beneath central Frankfurt in Germany.

The challenge entails constructing an underground line from Konstablerwache within the metropolis centre to Fechenheim, through the brand new “Frankfurt (Most important) Ost (tief)” S-Bahn station.

The scope of the contract requires Implenia to assemble the preliminary “Trog” development pit, the pit for the Frankfurt (Most important) Ost (tief) underground station, a number of auxiliary pits, and associated civil engineering buildings.
