India reaffirms religious neutrality after China objects to Dalai Lama remarks | India News

India on Thursday reaffirmed its impartial stance on non secular issues, together with the difficulty of the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation, after China raised objections to current remarks by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.

“We now have seen experiences regarding the assertion made by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in regards to the continuation of the Dalai Lama establishment,” the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) stated in a press release.

“The Authorities of India doesn’t take any place or communicate on issues regarding beliefs and practices of religion and faith. The Authorities has all the time upheld freedom of faith for all in India and can proceed to take action,” it added.

The MEA’s feedback come hours after China urged India to behave “cautiously” on Tibet-related issues, reacting strongly to Rijiju’s assertion that solely the Dalai Lama and the establishment he arrange have the authority to determine his successor.

 

Responding to Rijiju’s feedback, Chinese language International Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated India ought to “be away from the anti-China separatist nature of the 14th Dalai Lama” and “honour its commitments on Xizang (Tibet)-related points.”

On Wednesday, the Dalai Lama, who has lived in India since fleeing Tibet in 1959, reiterated that his reincarnation can be recognized by the Gaden Phodrang Belief — and urged his successor can be born exterior China.
