Karnataka Congress’s attack on BJP govt over report on ₹4.5 crore ad film | Bengaluru

The Congress in Karnataka has slammed the state authorities over a report on spending about Rs. 4.5 crore for a 5-minute movie to advertise the upcoming International Traders Meet (GIM) in Bengaluru. Former minister and Congress MLA Priyank Kharge mentioned that the federal government, which “failed to offer jobs within the state”, is “spending exorbitant quantities” for promotion.

In a tweet, Kharge – who’s the Chairman, Communications, KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee), mentioned, “Taking a leaf out of Modi ji’s model of functioning, Industries Dept spends a whopping Rs. 4.5 Cr for five minutes promotion movie. The Dept has did not generate any jobs previous 3 years & is now counting on “slick” promos to mislead folks. (Sic)”

In accordance with a report in Deccan Herald, Karnataka’s Commerce and Industries Division minister Murugesh Nirnani wrote a letter to the division’s Further Chief Secretary, E V Ramana Reddy, on October 21 after studying that it will value Rs. 4.5 crore for an commercial with a length of 5 minutes. He even requested the officer to cancel the cope with the manufacturing firm. “Such a piece order with excessive expenditure shouldn’t be acceptable within the current financial situation. The work order shall be cancelled,” the minister reportedly wrote within the letter.

The International Traders Meet is scheduled on November 2 to November 4 in Bengaluru after a hiatus of six years. “The state is anticipating over ₹5 lakh crore in investments within the International Traders Meet 2022,” Nirani mentioned on the launch of a roadshow within the nationwide capital earlier this month to advertise Karnataka as an funding vacation spot.
