Karnataka court hands death penalty to 3 for killing five of a family over love marriage | Bangalore News

A Karnataka court docket has handed out the loss of life penalty to a few individuals and life phrases to 9 others for killing 5 members of a household, together with the dad and mom of the person who had married the daughter of two of the convicts towards their needs, in Raichur district.

On July 11, 2020, Savitramma, 55; Shreedevi, 38; Hanumesh 35; Nagraj, 33; and Eerappa, 60—all residents of Sindhanur city in Raichur—have been overwhelmed to loss of life after the in-laws of Eerappa and Savitramma’s son Mounesh and different relations of his spouse Manjula had a heated argument with them at his house. Hanumesh and Nagaraj have been Mounesh’s brothers and Shreedevi his sister.

Manjula’s relations went to Mounesh’s house as they have been enraged by a police grievance he had lodged on the Sindhanur police station after that they had threatened to kill him and his family members. The risk got here when the couple, who belong to the Kuruba neighborhood, visited her house six months after their marriage. As Manjula’s dad and mom refused to just accept their marriage, the couple have been residing in Gadag.

Superintendent of Police Putta Madaiah mentioned the court docket sentenced Sanna Fakirappa, Ambanna and Somashekar to loss of life and imposed a wonderful of Rs 47,000 on them on Tuesday. The lifers within the case are Rekha, Gangamma, Dhodda Fakirappa, Hanumantha, Honnurappa, Basalingappa, Amaresh, Shivaraj, and Parasappa. The convicts belong to Manjula’s household and embody her dad and mom.

Because the incident, Mounesh and Manjula have been residing in Sindhanur and have police safety, an officer mentioned, including that the husband and spouse—then 21 and 18 years previous, respectively—have been spared solely as a result of that they had gone to a police station when the murders happened.
