In a significant embarrassment to the Congress-ruled Karnataka authorities, Basavaraj Rayareddi, the financial advisor to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has stated that the state was “primary” in corruption.

“Regardless of who’s in energy, corruption is widespread. In corruption, Karnataka is primary,” the Yelburga MLA stated, talking at an interplay organised by the Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee in Koppal on Tuesday.
