Maharashtra Cong chief Patole on initial trends in Kasba Peth – ThePrint – ANIFeed

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 2 (ANI): Amid the counting of votes in Kasba Peth and Chinchwad Meeting constituencies, which went to bypolls on February 27, the Congress’s Maharashtra president Nana Patole on Thursday sounded “assured” about his get together’s prospects within the former after the preliminary rounds of counting put the Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate within the lead.

Talking to reporters amid the continuing counting of votes on Thursday, Patole mentioned he was optimistic that the early traits in Kasba Peth would translate ‘into victory” for the Congress.

The counting of votes for the Meeting bye-elections in Kasba Peth and Chinchwad Meeting segments started at 8 am on Thursday.

Talking to reporters in Pune, Patole expressed gratitude to the folks of the Kasba for reposing their belief within the MVA and the Congress.

“The folks in Pune have rejected all makes an attempt to undermine democracy by way of cash and intimidation,” Patole mentioned, with out naming the BJP.

“I’m assured that our candidate in Chinchwad may even win. There’s a neck-to-neck combat. Our candidate is main in Kasba Peth,” he instructed reporters.

Amid the counting of votes, Kasba Peth BJP candidate Hemant Rasane supplied prayers at Shreemant Dagdusheth Haliwali Ganpati Temple in Pune.

In the meantime, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) employees erupted into celebrations at Kasba Peth on Thursday because the official traits pointed to a win for Congress’ Dhangekar Ravindra Hemraj.

The Kasba Peth Meeting constituency was locked in a fierce two-way combat, with the Congress’s Dhangekar Ravindra Hemraj main BJP’S Hemant Narayan Rasane by 1,637 votes after intial rounds of counting.
