Mangaluru mob lynching: 3 cops suspended over investigation ‘delays’ | Bangalore News

Three police officers have been suspended over alleged delays in investigating a mob lynching on the outskirts of Karnataka’s Mangaluru, sources stated on Thursday.

The suspension orders for the trio—Mangaluru Rural Police Inspector Shivakumar, Head Constable Chandra P, and Constable Ellalinga—had been issued on Tuesday night time.

He warned that unchecked incidents like this might set off wider communal unrest. “Each time a lynching occurs, the district is gripped by communal rigidity. There may be rising distrust over investigations throughout communities. A devoted SIT is important to make sure swift and honest probes into such delicate incidents,” Rai stated.
