A senior police officer in Karnataka’s Dharwad who had requested voluntary retirement from service (VRS) after Siddaramaiah raised his hand towards him in April, Thursday withdrew his utility after talking to the chief minister and Residence Minister G Parameshwara.

In April, Siddaramaiah raised his hand towards Narayan Barmani, Further Superintendent of Police, Dharwad, on stage throughout a Congress rally in Belagavi. The video went viral, drawing criticism from the Opposition towards the Karnataka chief minister’s high-handedness towards the senior police officer.

Confirming that he spoke to Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara, Barmani mentioned Thursday afternoon, “I work within the disciplinary power. I had expressed my feelings with my seniors, after that senior cops, the chief minister and residential minister spoke to me. I’ll now attend my routine work”.
