‘Misconceived’: SC dismisses plea seeking to restrain Justice D Y Chandrachud from taking oath as CJI

The Supreme Court docket on Wednesday dismissed a petition looking for to restrain Justice D Y Chandrachud from taking oath as the following Chief Justice of India on November 9. A bench headed by Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit referred to as the petition ‘fully misconceived.’

Justice Chandrachud who is about to take oath on November 9 because the fiftieth Chief Justice of India will succeed CJI U U Lalit, who is because of retire on November 8. He was named by justice UU Lalit as per seniority and was accepted by President Droupadi Murmu.
