Abu Dhabi’s sovereign investor, the Mubadala Funding Firm, has declared a $325m (Dh1.19bn) funding within the 2.9GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm venture within the UK.

Hornsea 3, located 120km off the Norfolk coast, is about to turn out to be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

Mubadala is partnering with a consortium headed by Apollo-managed funds, together with USS and La Caisse, for funding.

The funding comes after Apollo Funds acquired a 50% stake within the three way partnership that holds Hornsea 3.

The transaction enhances Mubadala’s collaboration with Apollo and expands its international portfolio of renewable vitality investments.
