NIA files charges against 3 LTTE supporters

THE NATIONAL Investigation Company (NIA) on Friday filed a cost sheet in opposition to three LTTE supporters who have been allegedly planning terrorist acts to revive the proscribed group in Tamil Nadu.

“The cost sheet was filed in opposition to the arrested accused from Tamil Nadu – Naveen alias Chakaravarthy M, Sanjay Prakash J and A Kabilar alias Kabilan,” a spokesperson for the NIA mentioned.

The NIA mentioned the case was associated to the restoration of two country-made pistols, ammunition and gunpowder throughout a car examine close to Puliyampatti division within the Omalur police station space of Salem district in Tamil Nadu on Could 19. The case was first registered at Omalur police station on Could 19 and was later re-registered by the NIA.

“Investigations have established that the three accused had conspired and related themselves with the LTTE…, and created an organisation referred to as ‘World Tamil Justice Court docket’. That they had made plans to assault individuals who work in quarries, crushers and TASMAC liquor outlets by utilizing unlawful firearms, deadly weapons and explosive substances and in addition inflicting destruction to property,” the spokesperson mentioned.

The NIA mentioned investigations additionally revealed that they’d chosen to strike on Could 18, which marks the Mullivaikkal Remembrance Day, noticed by Sri Lankan Tamil folks and supporters of LTTE to pay homage to those that died within the Sri Lankan civil conflict.
