Oklahoma Democrat Kody Macaulay shared his disgust on the senator’s bigotted assertion in a fuming message to X, previously Twitter.
“With America fixated on Oklahoma, our GOP representatives hold displaying their true colours,” he wrote. “Tom Woods is a pathetic excuse for a human being who doesn’t replicate the values of the Air Drive that I served in.”
Sen. Kay Floyd, the primary overtly lesbian elected in Oaklahoma representing District 46, issued her personal assertion.
“As elected officers, we’re held to the next commonplace,” Floyd stated. “Phrases have penalties, and this type of conduct is unbecoming of an elected official. It’s our responsibility to characterize and defend everybody, and never make issues worse.”
