One Maoist was killed in an encounter with safety forces within the jungles of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district Thursday night, officers stated.

This comes as the large anti-insurgency operation continues within the state as safety forces push to satisfy the central authorities’s March 2026 deadline to “eradicate Left-Wing Extremism”.
