Pakistan hockey team gets NOC for Asian Champions Trophy, to reach India on Tuesday | Hockey News

The Pakistan hockey staff has received the inexperienced sign to journey to India for the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy slated to be held in Chennai from August 3.

Pakistan Hockey Federation secretary Haider Hussain confirmed on Friday that the Sports activities Board has received the NOC from the ministry of inside.

“The contingent will depart on Tuesday through the Wagah border and journey to Amritsar from the place they’ve been booked on a home flight for Chennai,” he mentioned. Haider mentioned they have been nonetheless awaiting visas for 3 officers together with the newly appointed advisor of the nationwide staff, Shahnaz Sheikh.

The PHF earlier this month named Shahnaz because the senior advisor of the staff.

Shahnaz, a celebrated hockey identify, was the pinnacle coach when Pakistan misplaced within the ultimate of the Champions Trophy in India in 2014.

Haider mentioned they have been assured of getting the visas on Monday. Visas for the remainder of the gamers and officers had already been issued by the Indian Excessive Fee.

Pakistan are scheduled to play their first match towards Malaysia on August 3. The Inexperienced Shirts will lock horns with arch-rivals India on August 9.

August 3: vs Malaysia; August 4: vs Korea; August 6: vs Japan; August 7: vs China; August 9: vs India.
