Ranya Rao case: ED raids institutions of Karnataka minister G Parameshwara | Bangalore News

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Wednesday searched instructional establishments linked to Karnataka Dwelling Minister G Parameshwara, allegedly in reference to the gold smuggling case involving Kannada actor Ranya Rao.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress known as the searches “vendetta politics” in opposition to a Dalit chief.

The ED searches have been carried out at 16 premises. These included establishments owned by Parameshwara — the Sri Siddhartha Medical Faculty and Sri Siddhartha Institute of Know-how in Tumkuru and Sri Siddhartha Institute Of Medical Sciences in Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

In keeping with ED sources, the raids centered on those that allegedly facilitated unlawful international trade motion for gold procurement. A supply stated: “A number of such individuals have admitted to dealings with Ranya Rao. The consumers have admitted to having purchased gold from her and promoting it to jewellers. Rao was arrested on the Bengaluru airport on March 3 for allegedly smuggling 14.2 kg of gold price `12.56 crore. The ED had registered a case of cash laundering in opposition to her.

In keeping with ED sources, an academic establishment allegedly diverted funds and made a fee of `40 lakh in the direction of Rao’s bank card invoice. No supporting vouchers or documentation have been discovered to substantiate this fee, they stated.
