SC stops coronation of Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati as Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth

Shankaracharya is a generally used title of heads of monasteries known as mutts within the Advaita Vedanta custom of Hinduism.

It’s believed that Adi Shankaracharya had established 4 mutts at Badrikashram Jyotish Peeth within the north, Dwarka’s Shardha Peeth within the west, Govardhan Peetha in Puri within the east, and Sringeri Sharada Peetham in Chikkamagalur district, Karnataka.
