Seven booked after 2 Moosewala murder accused killed in jail | Latest News India

Seven inmates of the Goindwal Sahib Central Jail in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Monday have been booked for the killing of two individuals held in reference to the homicide of singer Sidhu Moosewala, police stated.

“On the assertion of jail officers, we’ve got booked seven individuals for attacking their fellow inmates. These accused might be introduced on manufacturing warrant for questioning to determine the precise cause of the conflict,” senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gurmeet Singh Chauhan stated.

The deceased have been recognized as Mandeep Singh alias Toofan, a resident of Batala, and Manmohan Singh alias Mohna, a resident of Budhlada in Bhatinda.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the three victims belonged to the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and so they have been attacked by some inmates, who’re additionally accused within the Moosewala homicide case however belong to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.

Late on Sunday evening, police officers stated two extra inmates have been hospitalised after receiving accidents within the conflict that broke out within the jail.

These booked on Monday belonged to the Bishnoi gang – Manpreet Bhau, Sachin Bhiwani, Ankit, Kashish, Rajinder, Arshad Khan and Malkit Singh. The inmates have been booked below sections 302 (homicide), 307 (tried homicide) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and numerous provisions of the Prisons Act at Goindwal Sahib police station.

The lethal conflict on Sunday prompted jail authorities to separate as many as 18 inmates belonging to the 2 gangs and ship them to 5 totally different prisons. “Each the gang members have been separated,” the SSP stated.

The inmates have been shifted to Kapurthala, Ferozepur, Roop Nagar, Hoshiarpur and Amritsar prisons.
